About Us
Experienced
10+ years in the data recovery field. We have successfully recovered hundreds of drives and performed hundreds of successful Level-3 head swaps and platter swaps.
Industry-Leading tools
We use the same data recovery tools that the biggest data recovery companies use: PC3000, Deepspar Disk Imager, and Rusolut’s Virtual NAND Reconstructor software for "chip-off" recoveries.
Fair Pricing
We want to provide people with a more affordable option for data recovery. Some companies charge $2500+(!) for data recovery alone, on top charging Level-3 Cleanroom repairs, with a total recovery costing over $3500.
Level-3 Repairs
We use an ISO Class-5 cleanroom cabinet and tools from HDDSurgery for all of our inspections and Level-3 repairs.
Despite the complexity of Level-3 repairs, we don't charge any labor fees to perform them.
FAQs
What types of devices do you recover data from?
We can recover data from a wide range of devices, including, but not limited to, hard drives, SSDs, RAIDs, Flash Drives, eMMC chips, Microsoft Surface, SD cards, MicroSD Cards, CF Cards, some mobile phones, and more.
We can also recover all storage device interfaces (SATA, IDE/ATA, SAS, etc.), all partition types (exFAT, NTFS, HFS+, ZFS, etc.), and all failed operating systems (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.).
We typically receive 10-20 drives per week, with each recovery process taking about 5-10 business days. Since we receive most of our drives at the beginning of the week, it may take 1-2 days before we can begin working on your device if it arrives later in the week.
You can expect to receive the first progress update via email within 2-3 days after we begin the recovery process.
How long does the data recovery process take?
The duration of the data recovery process can vary depending on the complexity of the issue and the type of device. Typical turnaround time for standard service is 7-10 business days.
For Expedited Service, the typical turnaround time is 1-3 business days.
If donor parts are required, it can add 3-5 business days to the process.
We'll provide you with email updates every 1-3 business days to keep you informed of the recovery process.
How much will everything cost?
~85% of our customers pay $1250 total, with their full $250 deposit being put towards their total. This means their payment link at the end of a successful recovery is for $1000.
If your drive requires Level-3 Cleanroom repairs, your $250 deposit will be applied toward the cost of a donor drive. We will email you a link to the most compatible donor drive we plan to order so that you can review the cost of the donor before deciding whether to proceed. If you choose not to proceed, we will refund your deposit in full, minus a $25 return shipping fee if you would like your drive returned. If you choose to continue, your remaining deposit will be applied towards your $1250 total if the repair is successful (meaning, we either recover 99% or more of what is on the drive, or we recover less than that, but you decide you want the data anyway).
What should I expect after the data recovery process is complete?
We will transfer the recovered data onto a new external storage device that you can connect to your computer. Please note that we do NOT fix or repair your original device. Instead, we get your device into a modified state in order to access the data, transfer it to a working drive, and then move it from that working drive to the external transfer drive, where it is safely stored and accessible to you.
What is your success rate?
Our success rate varies based on the type of data loss and the condition of the device, but our average success rate is ~85%. While we have a high success rate, not all data recovery cases are successful. The likelihood of recovery depends on the nature of the data loss and the condition of the storage device. About 5-10% of all devices are unrecoverable by any data recovery company due to severe platter damage, firmware corruption, etc.
If you have recovered some of my data, but we need to try a head/platter swap to try to recover more data, is there a risk of losing the data you have already recovered?
No, we clone all data to a working drive during the recovery process, ensuring that any recovered data is safely stored on another drive.
Can you recover data from physically damaged devices?
Yes, we have the tools and expertise to recover data from physically damaged devices, including those that have suffered water, fire, or impact damage. That said, if the damage is too severe, no data recovery company will be able to recover the data.
What should I do if I experience data loss?
Immediately stop using the affected device to prevent further damage or data overwriting. Contact us as soon as possible for a professional evaluation. You can fill out our Intake Form for any questions you have or fill out our Mail-In Form to send your device to us.
Is my data confidential?
Yes, we adhere to strict confidentiality and data protection policies to ensure your data remains secure and private throughout the recovery process. We keep your data stored on our backup drive for a maximum of two weeks once your data has been returned to you. After that, our backup is wiped.
What should I do if my hard drive is making unusual noises?
If your hard drive is making clicking, grinding, or other unusual noises, stop using it immediately and contact us by filling out our Intake Form or send your device to us by filling out our Mail-In Form. Continuing to use the drive can cause further damage and reduce the chances of successful data recovery.
Can you recover data from a drive that has been formatted or deleted?
Yes, we can often recover data from a formatted drive, depending on how the drive was formatted and what actions were taken afterward.
Deleted files can also often be recovered, especially if no new data has been written to the drive after the deletion. However, the success rate decreases if the data has been overwritten.
For questions about a format/deleted files/overwritten recovery, please visit our Pricing page or fill out our Intake Form.
Why am I not receiving emails from you?
To avoid missing any emails from All-In Data Recovery, please add our domain (@allindatarecovery.com) to your email whitelist. If you need more help, please follow our Email Whitelist instructions.
Why is there no phone number to call?
We understand that not having a phone number to call is frustrating, as it can be much easier to talk to someone on the phone. However, because we are only a team of two (with one person working part-time), we are always working on recovery and simply don’t have the time to answer the phone.
For technical questions, please email our Owner and Lead Technician, Tim, at tim@allindatarecovery.com.
Why is there no physical address listed?
We no longer list our physical address to help streamline our operations and minimize interruptions. While we understand that having a physical location can be important for some customers, managing in-person visits was becoming too time-consuming and affected our ability to focus on recoveries in a timely manner. We appreciate your understanding and are here to assist you remotely with any inquiries or support you may need.
